Purpose
The Lower Milford Residents
Association ia a non-profit organization with the primary purpose to
promote and protect the quality of life for all residents in and around the Lower
Milford Township community by:
- Facilitating the preservation of prime agriculture
and farmland.
- Promoting the protection of natural, scenic, and
historic values in the environment.
- Preserving forests, wetlands, aquifers, and flood
plains.
- Promoting and facilitating reasonable land use and
growth management practices within the Township and the surrounding
community.
- Protecting and enhancing property values within the
township.
- Educating the public regarding the above described
quality of life issues.
(In pursuing such purposes, the
Association shall not act so as to impair its eligibility for exemption under
Section 501 (c) (4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended.)
Accomplishments
- Organized public comment in opposition to the Twin-S
Trailer Park Proposal, of 229 trailer homes on 100+ acres, which was
subsequently withdrawn.
- Worked with legal counsel to challenge the curative
amendment proposal by the Victorian Village developer. Subsequently,
Victorian Village was defeated in Commonwealth Court. Their proposal of
450 units has been reduced to 54 homes.
- Investigated methods to assist the Lower Milford Twp.
Planning Commission to develop improved ordinances that are designed to
promote reasonable growth while preserving the rural character of the
township.
- Educated residents on the implications of
growth-oriented changes in our township, and how residents will be
affected.
Our Legal
Representation
As contributions allow, we will use legal representation
to oppose possible development which could adversely affect the rural
character of Lower Milford Township. In the
past, the Association retained John
Rice, Attorney-at-Law, of Grim, Biehn & Thatcher. Mr. Rice
specializes in zoning, land planning, and curative amendment issues. He has 20
years of experience in the preservation-oriented land management of rural
townships.
Please join and help
sustain the quality of the rural, peaceful nature of Lower Milford Township.
